A file toolkit that keeps your files.

Most conversion sites ask you to upload sensitive documents to a server — a contract, a bank statement, a family video — process them there, and hand back a download. FileForge does the opposite. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser tab. Your file literally cannot leave, because there is no backend to receive it.

How it works

FileForge is a static site. When you open a tool, we load a small JavaScript module (and, for audio/video, a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg) directly into the tab. The conversion runs against your file in memory, and the download you receive is generated locally with nothing more than a Blob URL.

What this means for you

No accounts, no email. There is nothing to sign up for.
No tracking of files. We can’t see your files — we don’t have a place to store them.
Works offline. After the tool loads once, you can disconnect and it will keep running.
Limited by your device. Very large videos may be slow or fail on low-memory browsers — that is the trade-off for privacy.
